Overall, I'll give this thriller a rating of "NOT thumbs down." William Holden was good as the cop who is all cop but wants to be a man too, only when he meets the right woman. Much gun violence. The evil guy was very, very evil! This noirish crime drama about a kidnapping for ransom has most of its action set in Union Station Chicago, but it was filmed in LA Union Station, which I figured out when I spotted a palm tree: oops! The "Hot Toddy Scene" between the two cops was special.
